BIOGRAPHIE

Juliana and Nicola Giraffe are sisters, artists, and mimes living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Together, they run Giraffe Studios Imagination Emporium, an independent film studio and art space. For nearly ten years, their primary focus has been producing, directing, and production designing theatrical and narrative driven music videos. What began as collaborations with friends, burst into a thrilling career, each video offering the opportunity to erect complete worlds, circuses of filmic delight, and to hone their craft. Some of Giraffe Studios’ clients include Columbia, Capitol Records, Warner Music Group, Condé Nast, Secretly Canadian, and Domino Music. In tangent with their directing career, grew an interest in the whimsical, though dwindling, world of mime. Juliana and Nicola have trained in both Los Angeles and Paris, and together perform under the name, “The Invisible Women”. It is from the convergence of these passions that their short film, We Saw Ourselves Dreaming, was born. Separately, Nicola attended UCLA and Central Saint Martins for fine art and Juliana attended Art Center College of Design for cinematography. However, both ended their time in university early as they were swept up by practical opportunities to work in cinema and start their own production company.
