BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] Aaron Lucas is a Jewish, German/Australian writer and director based between Sydney and Berlin. He trained as an actor at the University of Wollongong in Australia where he first began directing theatre with his peers. After university, he sidestepped into making films with his actor friends, directing short films ‘The Clique’ (2018), ‘Free Therapy’ (2019), Mary (2023) and music videos for Flight to Dubai’s ‘Graduation’ (2017) and Born Mild’s ‘Poison’ (2021) and ‘Fool For Lovin’ (2021). His independent pilot for ‘Privileged’ won best comedy at SeriesFest in 2021 and Stareable LA 2022. His mid-length animated documentary ‘I’ll Be Frank’ won First Prize in the Hearts Minds Soul Award at Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival 2022, and was nominated for Best Documentary/Factual Single at the Australian International Documentary Conference 2023. In 2022 he took part in TIFF’s Filmmaker Lab, and in 2023 he was one of eight selected for TIFF’s Writers Studio with his debut feature film script “Luna”.
