Agnes Skonare Karlsson

BIOGRAPHIE

Agnes Skonare Karlsson is a New York based writer / director born in Stockholm, starting her career working as a screenwriting - and producing assistant for a few Swedish production companies, including productions such as "Border,” “The Wife,” and “STHLM Requiem”. In 2018, Agnes was chosen to be a screenwriting candidate at Columbia University’s Film MFA program, supported by a scholarship from the Sweden-America Foundation. Her first short “Open Doors” (2020) was acknowledged and nominated at Gothenburg Film Festival, Stockholm Independent Film Festival and Nordic International Film Festival. Agnes' second short film, “Berry Pickers,” (2021), is a gradually accumulating story of dislocation and entrapment.
