Siyuan Xu

BIOGRAPHIE

Alex Xu received a bachelor degree in history at Wuhan University and later pursues a master’s degree in Cinema Studies at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. During his undergraduate studies, he made the documentary As It Flows Away, outlining Wuhan’s "history of soundscape" for the past 70 years through interviews with more than 10 artists, both aged and young. While at New York University, he made the narrative short Big Fish, telling the story of an immigrant father and son, garnering awards and nominations in several international film festivals. From January to February, 2019, he served as the line producer in the shooting of Qin Xiaoyu drama feature "Prisoner" in Pakistan. His iPhone-made short film Tender is the Cat entered the national film competition held by Youth Film Handbook during the convid-19 pandemic.
