Sinung Winahyoko was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on March 21st, 1984, After graduating from the Indonesian Communication Academy in Yogyakarta, he started his career in early 2007 as Documentary Filmmaker, for some Behind The Scene Movies. In 2010, he began directing self-produced music videos and was Stage Director for some music events. And started making his first Short Film “Memoria” in 2010. The year after, he directed TVCommercials until now. His interest in exploring art media outside music video and TV Commercial Industry made him part of the Yogyakarta Biennale Art Exhibition in 2014, he made Game Application as an art form called “No Oil For No Country, the nation trading game to control the war for oil in a gamble application game. In 2015, he direct his second Short Film “The Taste of Fences, which was nominated for Best Art Direction at Odense International Film Festival Denmark, screened in Human Rights International Film Festival in Italy, Jogja Asian Film Festival, and Busan International Short Film Festival. In the same year, as part of the Taste of Fences research about tradition meets modernity in present time generations, he made an installation for the 2015 Yogyakarta Artweeks Exhibition called “The Zoo”, a 3D glasses visual diorama of a pregnant Javanese girl eating KFC in a cage. And in 2017, he made his third Short Film “Madonna” which won Sonje Award for Best Short Film at Busan International Film Festival.
