Olga Sasplugas graduated in Humanities from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and in Contemporary Dance from the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. She began her career in the world of professional dance with the It Dansa Company (directed by Catherine Allard) with which she shared 4 years of her career working directly with internationally renowned choreographers such as Wim Vandekeybus, Rui Huerta, Ohad Naharin, Jacopo Godani, among others. A special interest in the field of choreographic creation, both on stage and in the field of video, led her to win two awards from the Generalitat de Catalunya and TV3 to create the Videodance works, Mâi Pên Râi and Astragalus, exhibited at international festivals. Astragalus was among the 5 finalists of the prestigious Dance on Camera Festival, New York (2005). In 2003, supported by the First Fulbright Scholarship of the State of Andorra, she studied a Master in Performing Studies at Tisch School of the Arts, New York, where she approached the world of education and dance as a tool for personal development. From this experience she developed projects such as the Creation of a Dance program at the Children of the World orphanage, Cambodia 2005, The Dance Workshop for Women at Risk of Social Exclusion, and other projects such as Codificat.com: an amalgam between dance, immigration and new technologies. At the moment, she diversifies her choreographic and educational concerns, with her role as artistic and pedagogical advisor to the organization Sudansa.
