BIOGRAPHIE

Sam is a Bristol UK-based filmmaker with a fierce imagination and a passion for female-centric, emotionally literate horror. As a teen, he began a lifelong obsession with classic genre cinema and gothic literature. Having trained as an actor in London, he soon found himself more inspired behind the camera and having taught himself to shoot and edit, he duly started a video production company that ran for 9 years. He returned to Bristol in 2016 to reconnect with his roots and refocus his efforts on more artistic endeavours. His doc short ‘Valerie', about a 96 year old occultist, completed a successful run on the festival circuit and in recent years he has cultivated his voice as a writer. Compelled to write about magic, 'Shadow' and the 'Divine Feminine', Sam recently launched Quiet Thunder Films and the mystical ‘Her Name I’ll Sing’ is the platform's debut fictional short. He is currently working on another (mixed-genre) short and a feature script named Blood and Earth.
