Nasir Malekijoo

BIOGRAPHIE

Nasir Malekijoo is an Iranian American filmmaker and theater artist. He has finished his MFA studies in the field of “Public Art and New Artistic Strategies” at Bauhaus Universität Weimar, Germany in 2018 and is currently doing his Ph.D. in the Department of Theater and Film at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA. From 2006 to 2020, he was professionally involved in the Iranian theater industry and has created a variety of plays with an eclectic approach towards experimental and European theater associated with visual and post-dramatic language. As a writer, director, set, costume designer, and actor, he tries to portray a unified, monolithic world defined and developed by his own individual mindset. Most recently, he is gravitated to creating the film as an independent filmmaker with the approach to symbolism, postmodernism, and magical realism.
