BIOGRAPHIE

Rufat Ray is a Film Director based in Baku, Azerbaijan. He successfully graduated from the Film Directing program of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. Studied Film and Television MA in Istanbul & Gazi University focusing mainly on film theory and philosophy. Moreover, he gained professional filmmaking experience during the IVLP Filmmaking program in the United States. He is the author of the feature film project "The Wolf," which won a script development award in 8. Malatya International Film Festival 2018. The project has been selected for the co-production workshop led by Martin Hagemann at the Tbilisi International Film Festival 2019. The short film project "The Bridge" had been selected by the Drim Short Film Festival 2020 in Macedonia for the Script Development Workshop led by Wim Vanacker. Rufat completed his debut short film "The Well" in 2022.
