Yuri Yamada, born January 1st, 1992, is a writer, director, and actor. She founded the theater troupe Zeitaku Binbo in 2012, and since then, she has written and directed all of her productions. Her plays "Fiction City" (2017) and "Mixture" (2019) were finalists for the Kishida Prize for Drama. For 2020 and 2021, she was Season Fellow I in the Saison Foundation. In recent years, she has also written scripts for drama series, as well as novels, and her short story "Mejiro Jasmine Tea" was published in the literature magazine Gunzo. Her original drama series "17.3 about a sex" on Abema TV, which has been called "Sex Education's Japanese version," as well as her drama series "30 Made ni to Urusakute" about 29-year-old women surviving in modern day Tokyo, have been well-received and are currently broadcasting.
