Victor Ventura is a fresh film-school graduate from the College of Saint Benilde and a freelance director that aims to capture hitherto unseen and unheard regional stories of the Philippines and bring them to the screen. He was born and raised in the American colonial hill station of Baguio City in Northern Luzon and started his film career in Metro Manila. Experiencing and witnessing the dualities of metropolitan and rural life, he realized the lack of showcasing the plights of the rural population as well as their hopes and dreams. He believes that stories from the margins are as universal and relevant as those told about urban life. He intends to use film as a means to bridge this glaring gap in contemporary cinema. He intends to use film to discover the familiar in the unfamiliar as well as the unfamiliar in the familiar.
