Neil Ferron is a Seattle-born writer/director currently based in LA. His first feature script, FISHMONGER - a supernatural dark comedy about Irish tentacle sex and self-acceptance - was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2021 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Prior to FISHMONGER, Neil’s work has won accolades in film, theater, and fiction. His stage play, “Fabulous Prizes,” received Critics’ Picks from The Seattle Times, Seattle Weekly, and The Stranger. His music video for Shabazz Palace’s “Shine a Light” was premiered by Pitchfork. His work has been described as “wonderfully surreal” (Sub Pop), “shocking, horrific, and funny” (Rolling Stone), and a “Ph.D testing of what ‘works’ on the human consciousness” (Seattle Weekly). Neil is currently a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory. He holds a Masters in Theater from Trinity College Dublin, thanks to a George J. Mitchell Scholarship.
