BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] Jesús Lacorte is from La Laguna in Tenerife, but his family is from Extremadura. He studied architecture at the ULPGC and got his degree in 2013. After working in Shanghai for three years, he started his own company, LACØRTE films. In 2021, he got a master's degree in film from the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. He also filmed the short film Morir antes de morir (Jesús Lacorte, 2023), which won the ARRI award for best documentary at the 42nd Filmschoolfest in Munich. He is currently producing the documentaries: La (otra) juventud that tells the story of young bullfighters in Extremadura and Por los siglos de los siglos a three-part series on Holy Week in Jerez de los Caballeros. He is also working on the short film in 16mm Con permiso de la autoridad eclesiástica about his grandfather.
