With a degree in Audiovisual Communication, Marta Matute began working as a video technician and camera assistant in short films and series, such as "Herederos", "Hispania" or "Libres". Later, she trained as an actress at the William Layton Theater Laboratory, where she currently teaches acting technique and improvisation. In 2020, she was selected at the Spanish Film Academy Residences to develop her first fiction feature film "Yo no morir? de amor", a script that later received the Julio Alejandro 2021 SGAE Award, and which has taken part in prestigious laboratories such as La Incubadora ECAM, Ventana CineMad, CDPAI or Ventana Sur. "Una Amiga" is her first short film as a director.
