EN: In 2012, for his first screenplay, the short fiction film The Comrade, Jean-Philippe Nadeau-Marcoux won the prize for best short film at the first edition of the FCVQ. In 2014, he did it again with another short film which he was also directing this time, The Men’s from the Front, selected in more than eight countries around the world. Shot in Bolivia with crowdfunding in 2017, his documentary feature Journal de Bolivia: 50 years after the death of Che is released in theaters in 2020. This project is also in the official selection of the 41st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, Cuba. The feature film is still continuing its festival tour in more than six countries and is part of the documentary selection of the Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma in 2021. In 2023, he finishes his first solo fiction short film, The Sugar Cube. FR: En 2012, pour son premier scénario, le court métrage de fiction Le camarade, Jean-Philippe Nadeau-Marcoux remporte le prix du meilleur court-métrage à la première édition du FCVQ. En 2014, il récidive avec un autre court métrage dont il assure cette fois également la réalisation, Les gars du front, sélectionné dans plus de huit pays à travers le monde. Tourné en Bolivie avec du socio-financement en 2017, son long-métrage documentaire Journal de Bolivie : 50 ans après la mort du Che est distribué en salles en 2020. Ce projet se retrouve également dans la sélection officielle du 41e Festival International du nouveau cinéma latino-américain de La Havane à Cuba. Le long-métrage poursuit toujours sa tournée des festivals dans plus de six pays et intègre la sélection documentaire des Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma en 2021. Il termine en 2023 sont premier court-métrage solo de fiction, Le cube de sucre.
