BIOGRAPHIE

Hemanta Sadeeq is a filmmaker based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With his debut short film, "A Letter to God" (2017), he garnered international recognition, premiering at the prestigious 58th Asia Pacific Film Festival (APFF 58). In 2022, Hemanta directed and produced a short film titled "SHOLTE: The Lamp Wick," which poignantly portrays the Covid situation in rural Bangladesh. The film premiered at the esteemed Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. Continuing his creative journey, Hemanta's latest work, "KHOWAB: Castle in the Air," earned recognition as a Film Bazaar Recommends (FBR) short film. Currently, Hemanta is immersed in the production of his debut feature film, "RIGON: Tale of a Father," a captivating Bangladesh-Italy co-production. Hemanta's educational background includes studying Theater and Performance Studies at the University of Dhaka. With a passion for framing his ideas and thoughts through his films, this visionary Bangladeshi filmmaker aspires to weave his artistic vision throughout his lifetime.
