Daniel Deville

BIOGRAPHIE

Growing up in Bradford, England, without many outlets for budding filmmakers, Daniel began making films at the age of twelve; when he was given an old camcorder by a neighbour. In-between school, work, and football, he’d study the classics; attempting to copy their techniques in the backyard. Daniel knew he had to change the status quo of his upbringing and find a way to fulfil his dream of becoming a filmmaker. After writing multiple letters to film schools at the age of 25, he was lucky enough to be offered a special place at the Northern Film School in Leeds, where he studied Film & Moving Image for the next four years. Upon graduating he made the move to London, where he was offered an internship running & editing for a boutique production company. He used this opportunity to do what he had done as a kid; borrow a camera and shoot! Starting his professional career at 32, Daniel knew the odds were against him, but just as he did when he was a kid, he clung to his dreams and has since carved out a successful career in the film industry. Daniel is a BPD/Bipolar filmmaker who shoots with the support of his assistance dog: Brego. He has various accolades under his belt, including festival wins for his short film ‘Snare’, as well as a UK Music Video Award nomination.
