Vincent Essid

BIOGRAPHIE

Vincent Salah Essid is a French, Tunisian, and American filmmaker. He is a first-generation university student. He obtained his undergraduate degree from UCSB in film in media studies and is currently in his final year at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Vincent grew up between Paris, France, and Tunisia, before moving to California when he was 18. Telling the stories of multicultural individuals is something he values as well as their struggles to fit in, among other things. A comedy lover, he strives to infuse his stories with comedic undertones, even when dealing with serious topics. He enjoys animation, most recently working on stop motion projects on his own time. Vincent is passionate about the environment. He set up and maintained a local recycling program in his native neighborhood in Tunisia, still looking over it today, additionally making short promotional ads to encourage locals to participate in the program. Beyond his strong desire to create media, Vincent is an avid consumer of art. From participating in local theatrical plays to writing his collection of horror short stories, Vincent is consistently striving to entertain, educate, and help others through his stories. Vincent enjoys comedy, horror, sci-fi, documentaries, thrillers, and the occasional rom-com. He loves sports, regularly playing soccer during his spare time, and is an avid musician having played classical music and in rock bands.
