BIOGRAPHIE

I was born on 7 January 1981 in Wipperfürth. After finishing school, I trained as a process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology. From 2006 to 2013 I studied in the diploma programme Media Arts at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) with a focus on animation and directing, which I completed with the diploma grade "very good with distinction".My debut film "Däwit", which was funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, had its world premiere in the competition of the 65th Berlinale in 2015. "Däwit" has been screened at over 500 festivals worldwide and has won numerous prizes, including the ARTE Short Film Prize in 2015. My project "Blau", which was also funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, received the FBW rating "especially valuable" in 2017 and celebrated its world premiere at the 68th Berlinale in the Berlinale Shorts competition in 2018. From 2018, I worked as Creative Director in Cologne.
