Onur Akşit

BIOGRAPHIE

He was born in Izmir in 1980. In 2005, he graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Cinema and Television. In the same year, he worked as an editor at TVA. In 2012, he completed his doctoral dissertation "The Construction of Technoculture in Science Fiction Cinema". Since 2005, he has been serving as a faculty member at Ege University Faculty of Communication and since 2018 at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture he has been teaching "Popular Culture", "Technoculture", Rock Music History", "History of Visual Communication" and "Video Production Techniques". In 2021, a book titled "Technocultural Dreams and Nightmares: Technology and Human in Contemporary Sci-Fi Film", which he co-authored with Aslı Favaro, was published by Kalkedon Publications. Since 2022 he has been preparing a weekly alternative music radio program called “Breakdown” for Açık Radyo.
