Born in Upper of Egypt in 1989, Abdelwahab Shawky is an Egyptian filmmaker who studied film directing through various workshops with acknowledged filmmakers such as Ali Badrkhan and Ahmed Rashwan. He started his film career as a film critic, and wrote for several publications such as El Khan El Thaqafia and Film Reader between 2012-2014. He later worked as an assistant director with famous directors including Khaled Marie and Hatem Ali, then as a first AD with Amjad Abu Alala in his Venice lion of the future winner title You Will Die At Twenty. Finally, Shawky worked as a first AD with the famous Yousry Nasrallah on his series ( Welcome Cairo ), and develops his own projects in which he will use all the experience he gained over the past years.
