German A Duarte

BIOGRAPHIE

German A. Duarte (Ph.D.), Lyon Film Academy graduate in cinematographic photography. Started in Naples as video editor, post-production specialist, and photojournalist for Diario de Milán. Notable works include Hutongs (China 2006) and Vetas (Colombia 2009). Earned a Master's in New Technologies and Communication Sociology in Milan (2007). Pursued a Ph.D. in Film Philosophy and Media at BauHaus University, focusing on research, publications, and projects about film, technology, violence representation. Postdoctoral research at Plymouth's Planetary Collegium (2016). Currently, a professor in film history and media theory at Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. Extensively trained in film restoration/archiving, with three Masters of Advanced Studies. Also worked practically, such as editing the award-winning film "La ciénaga. Entre el Mar y la tierra" (2015).
