BIOGRAPHIE

Pat Heywood is based in Brooklyn and one half of a writing/directing team with Jamil McGinnis. Their work together has been featured on PBS, NOWNESS, TIDAL, NPR, NoBudge, Booooooom, Canal180, Blavity, Medium, Button Poetry, Shots, Poetry Foundation, and screened as Official Selections of the New Orleans Film Festival, Rhode Island International Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, New Hampshire Film Festival, Middlebury New Filmmaker Festival, African Film Festival at the Lincoln Center, and the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis. Pat grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts as a self-professed cinephile. He is a graduate of Emerson College, where he was nominated to partake in the Writers Guild of America Mentorship Program. After graduating, he spent four years working at the renowned production company SMUGGLER with world-class filmmakers like Kathryn Bigelow, Barry Jenkins, Bennett Miller, and Tom Hooper. He works concurrently with Cannes and Emmy-winning director Miles Jay developing stories for feature films.
