Anne Isaksson

BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] Anne Isaksson is Swedish film maker, based in London. She is currently undertaking a doctorate in Fine Arts at University of East London exploring dislocation, connecting feminist and identity formation theory to her investigations. She expresses identity as ambivalent and continuous, as well as being part of a reflexive process. She uses autobiography applied as autotheory to engage in the debate of body politics through identification where the personal is political. Anne made her full short film directorial debut in March 2023 on completion of Breathless, which she considers her first complete film work, for which she received much recognition and was awarded first prize for best experimental film at Lulea International Film Festival, Best Shorts Competition and London International Short Film Festival, as well being a semi-finalist in Stockholm City Film Festival and shortlisted for Newham Film Festival. Since then she has also produced the much anticipated A Meditation on Trauma which is currently being reviewed by film festivals. She is a founding member of London based DFA Arts Exchange where she has recently co-curated States of Exchange (SoE) and Hive Curates Commissioned In Out and is part of Centre for Creative and Cultural Practice (CCP) and the CIC BOTH.
