BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] I am GiorgiaCiraolo, a young director and assistant directorfrom Naples,with a deep passion for cinema since childhood.I graduated in Modern Literature from the University of Naples Federico II,with a thesis on Cinema oftheReal, a field that particularly fascinates me. Overthe years,I have gained experienceworking as an assistant director on various film sets,where I have been able to hone my organizational skills and attention to detail. In 2022,I approached theworld of documentary filmmaking through the Procida FilmAtelier, a Cinema oftheRealworkshop directed by Leonardo di Costanzo and produced by Parallelo41, where I co-directed the film Procida,whichwas presented out of competition atthe 2023 Locarno FilmFestival and awarded a special mention atthe PardoVerdeRicola. In 2024,I participated in the Laguna FilmLab, as part ofthe Giornate degli Autori attheVenice Film Festival, produced by ZaLab.During thisworkshop,I created a documentary telling the story of Fiorellina, a 71-year-old street vendor, and theworld around her, capturing fragments of her complex life. I continue towork actively as an assistant director and in production, butI dream of growing as a director, developing my creative vision through Cinema oftheReal and other projects.
