BIOGRAPHIE

Malak AlSayyad is a visual journalist and documentary filmmaker, from Cairo, Egypt. She graduated with a B.A. in Cinema & Media Studies and Media Arts & Sciences from Wellesley College, MA, and recently completed a Master's degree in the Documentary Specialization at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She cares about storytelling that preserves the dignity of its protagonists, ensures people's right to knowledge and shifts perspectives. In her work, she’s interested in exploring inequality, power and taboo, and the people and movements that challenge them.
