Job, Joris & Marieke is a Dutch animation studio, founded in 2007 by Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw. Their work is distinguished by the absurd concepts and distinctive designs. Job, Joris & Marieke are the writers, directors and designers of all their short films and music videos. In 2012 they initiated the children’s series The Tumblies, which has been broadcast in the Netherlands and been sold internationally. The series was nominated for a Prix de Jeunesse in 2014. In 2014 they made the short film Bon Voyage for the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in Utrecht. They went on to make the A Single Life. A 2 minute short which got nominated for a Cartoon d’Or and an Academy Award®. In 2017 they finished their short film (Otto). This film got nominated for a Rockie Award at the BANFF World Media Festival. Their next big project was the short film Kop Op (Heads Together) in 2018. This film was nominated for the Prix de Jeunesse, a Rockie Award, and a Cinekid Lion, and eventually won an International Emmy Kids Award. In 2018 they created another 2 minute short; A Double Life. This film got nominated for a Golden Calf at the Dutch Film Festival. The studio created a children’s series based on their film Kop Op (Swop) in 2022. This series was broadcasted on Dutch television and was nominated for a Cinekid Lion. They had an overview exhibition of their work at De Kunsthal Rotterdam in 2022. For this they also created a new work; Nobody, which was a VR experience. In 2024 they finished their third 2 minute short called Quota. Quota had its world premiere at TIFF. Altogether, their films and music videos have won over 75 awards and have been screened at more than 300 film festivals worldwide.
