[EN] Isabella Capurso is a writer, poet and documentary film maker based in Milan (Italy). By education, she has a master’s degree in geography and a doctoral degree in urban and regional sociology. Isabella Capurso has worked as a photographer and followed training in video-making in Paris. In 2021, she published her first collection of poems with the title 'Il pesce lanterna' [‘The flashlight fish’] for the publisher Gattomerlino Edizioni. This poetry book was reviewed in the literary magazine 'L'Estroverso' and 'NiedernGasse.' In 2022, her collection of short stories titled 'Corale' [‘Choral’], edited by LFA Publisher, was presented at the Turin International Book Fair (Italy). In the same year, she also published 'Sacro e urbano' [‘The holy and the urban’], which won the national cine-literary prize Bookciak, Action! in the Poetry section, and was ranked among the ten best-selling books by small and medium-sized publishers in 2022. ‘Sacro e urbano’ inspired two short films by young filmmakers, which were broadcasted at an independent initiative in the framework of the Venice Film Festival (2023). In the same year, Isabella Capurso wrote and co-directed the play 'Il Cuore' [‘The hearth’], together with Ketty Capra, which was performed in Milan at the theater Politeatro. Isabella Capurso also writes for 'Assonanze', a film critique magazine edited by Garavaglia and Moscati. In 2025, her illustrated book for children ‘L’aggiusta-cuori’ [‘The hearth-fixer’] will be published by Gattomerlino Edizioni. Since 2017, she has directed the atelier 'Le Poisson Lumière' [‘The flashlight fish’] in Milan, where she organises exhibitions and cultural events related to poetry, graphic arts, movies and video making. 'La Meta' is her first short film.
