[EN] Michael Boyd is an emerging director, writer, and editor. He has 15 years of experience in filmmaking. He studied film and filmmaking in tertiary education. There he made two student short films. One was an M.R. James adaptation which gained eleven thousand views on YouTube. He holds a Level 2 Apple Certified Final Cut Pro 7 editing certification on top of a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of film. He has made 4 other short films including 2 music videos. One for an Edinburgh band. Garnering recognition at festivals like the Polish Zoom festival and the Trongate short film fest Glasgow. He is a published screenwriter, his feature screenplay The Proving Grounds won a publishing prize and a dramatic recorded performance at 13 Horror.com. The Proving Grounds is an adaptation of William Boyd’s short story. Boyd has specialized mainly in horror and dark thrillers in the dawning periods of his career. He has cultivated a strong infrastructure in the industry from finance to distribution. He has established relationships at many levels of industry. He has worked in various positions on other short film productions and has gained experience in post-production facilities. He worked with Dylan Moran on his Yeah, Yeah Apollo performance. He has representation at Curtis Brown Agency and is now working with literary manager, casting director, and dramaturg Stephen Morgan-MacKay as well as Adolf El Assal and Wady Films. He worked with both on this Wiccan project. Boyd has worked with Lorenzo Allchurch (The White King) and Michael Daviot (The Banker, viral TikTok and Youtube phenomenon.) Boyd has written another feature film script and a TV series pilot script that was considered at Working Title. He also has 8 other developed short scripts to his name. To assist in fundraising efforts for his films Boyd has also developed a comprehensive team in the United States for entrepreneurial and real estate businesses and they are now funding his work. This infrastructure is not exclusively for the real estate industry and in fact, provides the rest of the infrastructure for his film work too. With all this, he has the infrastructure as well to bring to projects to take them from inception to premiere.
