BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] Fatima Abdulaziz Alshamsi is an Emirati writer and director who splits her time between New York City and Abu Dhabi. Fatima enjoyed a decade-long career as a geopolitical analyst before pursuing filmmaking full-time. With a passion for storytelling and cross-cultural dialogue, Fatima's writing explores the intricacies of interpersonal relationships and the elements that connect or separate us within the larger social context. In addition, she hopes to add nuance to the stereotypical representation of the Muslim-Arab experience in mass media; particularly stories told by and about women. Fatima’s most recent projects include working on a dozen short films on location in LA, Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi as a director and creative producer. She has also worked as a screenwriter in English, Arabic, French and Spanish.
