BIOGRAPHIE

[EN] YUMNA MARWAN is a Lebanese-born filmmaker whose career spans primarily in acting in both Middle Eastern and international productions. With an academic background in Anthropology from Smith College, Marwan has built an impressive filmography since her 2013 debut in Ghassan Salhab's "The Valley." Her versatility shines through award-winning performances in festival favorites screened at Locarno, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, and Venice. Marwan successfully crossed into English-language productions with her role as dominatrix Cherifa Lamor in Sky's "Little Birds" (2020), followed by her main role alongside Elisabeth Moss in FX's espionage thriller "The Veil" (2024). Her collaboration with acclaimed directors like Mounia Akl on both the award-winning short "Submarine" and feature "Costa Brava, Lebanon" demonstrates her ability to bring depth and authenticity to complex characters.
