SYNOPSIS

[EN] In 1812, in the city of Cartago, Costa Rica, a momentous announcement is made: King Ferdinand VII, who has escaped the Napoleonic invasion in Spain, plans to celebrate his coronation in the New World. Governor Acosta, an elderly man imbued with loyalty to the monarchy and a romantic spirit, is filled with excitement at the prospect of this imminent royal visit. This ruler, who has mostly remained in his governmental quarters, makes an unusual decision: he ventures out into the world to inform the people about the coronation and to summon everyone to attend the ceremony that very afternoon.
