SYNOPSIS

[EN] This is the tale of a belated coming-of-age ceremony for a Dong ethnic maiden. This is a Chinese solution to ethnic integration. Jiajia, a young Dong lady, finds herself needing traditional Dong attire for a university dance club rehearsal. Initially, she considers casually rent a set. However, her father reminds her of the revered Dong tradition that dictates, upon reaching a certain age, a young lady must prepare her own set of Dong ethnic attire, lovingly crafted by herself or a female relative, to mark her transition into adulthood. Unbeknownst to Jiajia, her father has quietly orchestrated every detail of this significant rite of passage. Thus, accompanied by her parents, Jiajia embarks on a poignant journey back to Sanbao Dong Village, her father's cherished hometown. There, she begins a journey of discovering her roots, in a state of innocence and curiosity.
