[EN] Sellafield nuclear power station is a seemingly unlikely host for one of just two public-facing queer groups on the west coast of Cumbria, UK. However, conversations with members of its internal LGBTQ+ network reveal unexpected connections between the work of decommissioning—of building, architecturally, extraordinarily safe spaces to store radioactive material—and the work of creating safe social space for queer people within a historically unwelcoming industry.
