SYNOPSIS

[EN] Ukraine, 2022, full-scale russian-Ukrainian war. Kherson under russian occupation. Kostia is involved with the armed underground and has to remain in hiding. He comes to his mother to find out if she has given the russians his whereabouts. The previous night he has barely escaped with his life. And only his mother knew where Kostia had been hiding. The woman is certain that the occupation is actually salvation, and that everyone should cooperate with the russians. The mother and son quarrel. Their argument almost gets physical, but when she offers the boy a meal, he is unable to refuse and sits down at the table in silence. Kostia starts reminiscing about how much he has always loved his mom... He shakes it off in a moment, though, and says he doesn’t want to see her ever again. As he is about to leave, a russian agent, who’d apparently been waiting for the right moment, bursts into the room. He takes Kostia’s mother hostage, threatening to shoot her if the man doesn’t surrender. Kostia has to make a choice: stay, risking his life to save his mother who betrayed him, or run away and save his own life.
