SYNOPSIS

[EN] The voices of single mothers are often neglected and left unheard, this film showcases their unique and multi-faceted experiences. Narrated through spoken word over dreamlike imagery (using a camcorder, VHS footage; personal archive and Super 8 film), and an ethereal score featuring sounds of the body and placenta. It is a deeply personal film that offers a unique and intimate perspective on single motherhood. It is a balm and an antidote to the usual, damaging, stereotypical portrayals and is a journey into the surreal, joyful, often fractured and poetic nature of maternal experience & being a sole carer.
