SYNOPSIS

[EN] Song From the South follows a cobbler in a rapidly changing cityscape where his trade—and life—are slowly slipping away. After a long day mending shoes and overhearing the petty struggles of others, he uses his last savings to buy an extravagant doll for his ailing daughter. A visit to the doctor reveals the heartbreaking truth: treatment is now out of reach. With nothing left but love, he boards a boat with his daughter, returning to their village with a sense of quiet resignation. Set against the backdrop of deindustrialization and poverty, the film captures the endurance of the working class, the failures of child healthcare in underdeveloped nations, and the silent strength of a father who has nothing left to give—except hope.
