SYNOPSIS

[EN] Spring 2020 - during confinement, I had the habit of taking the car and going for a ride adjacent to the Beirut port. The route was always the same and at the same hour; at sunset right before curfew. I found these empty streets quite poetic, and going in circles in this climate of a world at standstill seemed to reassure me. The city was still there, available to our eyes and to our wanderings. Here Afar is an audiovisual essay that returns to these images (and others), of a city, a sky, a route, shortly before or shortly after the end of the world.
