[EN] Cielo, an Afro-descendant woman from the Costa Chica of Oaxaca, grew up with only her parents after her older sister, Amare, migrated to the United States. Fourteen years later, Cielo tends the milpa and works as an art teacher in the community. Amare returns after Galdino's death but arrives too late for the funeral. Luis, a talented child, recognizes her and informs Cielo. Gudelia confronts Amare for cutting off a source of income with her return. Amare reveals her desire to take Cielo north, but seeing the children's affection for her, she hesitates. At the cemetery, Cielo bids farewell to her father and seeks refuge in her favorite lake. Amare finds her and invites her to fish. In the end, she decides to stay and work the milpa with Cielo.
