[EN] Beneath their gaze, Alex and Teo share an undeniable bond but when words falter, music becomes the instrument that lets down their guards. Through a queer gaze of a drama student, Alex, Hush Hush explores the issues of identity and sexuality, and identifies the intertwining performative nature between life and art. This film observes the unspoken desires between Alex and Teo, one who dares to live openly and the latter who hides behind social conventions and still coming to terms with his sexuality, as well as Alex’s friendship with Mae, whose femininity influences his self-image. Through music and dance, we slowly uncover the truth that lies underneath their outward personas.
