SYNOPSIS

[EN] It's his birthday. He will sing tonight. The pieces of his fragmented self struggle to compose the song; the fragments of the song expand to rebuild him. The depersonalising power of memory and dreams: our different selves, our different textures and their struggle to connect, the thirst for a transcendental epiphany that brings everything together. A single inexplicable moment, before we decompose again. A journey through my depersonalisation, anxiety disorder and body dysmorphic experience. The effort to reassemble the self amidst a colorful yet uninhabitable moment is examined through the aesthetic of the unfinished. Digital video, hi8 tapes and 16mm film are collaged together searching for substance in intermediality and in the friction of all these different surfaces.
