SYNOPSIS

[EN] Short: When weary DS Thompson encounters Tillie, a bold homeless teenager, their unlikely bond compels him to confront his inner turmoil. As paths intertwine, both face hard truths, unexpectedly reshaping their lives. Long: After his night shift, DS Thompson catches Tillie, a homeless teenager, shoplifting food. After apprehending her, Tillie is later surprised when Thompson takes her to his favourite burger van. Over the meal, he encourages her to pursue a more fulfilling life, but Tillie challenges him, asking if he follows his own advice. The pair part ways, but later, Thompson finds Tillie crying alone in an abandoned car, where she opens up about the abuse she faced at home, which led her to run away. Wanting to help, Thompson brings her to his home, but at the front door, his wife Ava confronts him for his misplaced priorities and constant avoidance of coming home, before leaving him outside, where he confesses his unfulfilled and unhappy life to Tillie. Recognising their shared loneliness, Tillie urges Thompson to go home. She walks away, free, while he remains a prisoner of his own making.
