SYNOPSIS

[EN] An unnamed Mediterranean coastline. Young recruit Yasin joins seasoned Gokhan on patrol. To his surprise, Yasin’s first grim task is to collect bodies that have washed ashore. Unbothered, Gokhan speaks of his retirement and his plans to open a patisserie. He then proceeds to share a cake he baked. Unsettled by the image of Gokhan executing a woman, Yasin vomits. In a haunting vision, Yasin watches Gokhan force the woman to taste his cake before handing him a pistol to finish her off. Yasin instead chooses to spare her. Snapped back to reality by a radio call, Yasin is forced to bear witness to Gokhan killing refugees one by one, leaving him disillusioned and complicit in a cycle of violence.
