[EN] In a New Jersey town divided by unseen borders, a Mexican immigrant community steps into the light. Their festival ignites pride and unity, but as fear rises, even joy becomes a radical act of hope. For over 25 years, Mexicans—many Mixtec from Indigenous villages in Oaxaca—have quietly shaped Lambertville, New Jersey, making up nearly 20% of its population yet remaining largely unseen. In 2022, the first Oaxaca Festival brought neighbors together through food, dance, and tradition, fostering unity. However, by 2025, amid growing anti-immigrant sentiment, the festival was canceled. The film captures this fragile awakening, showing how culture and compassion can bridge divides and transform a town.
